It was interesting to read your review of P&P. I've never read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie. I've seen similar reactions from people who have read the book. I've never seen the other version of the movie either. Regarding the finger splaying, I took it as Mr. Darcy's first realization that he had feelings for this woman he didn't really get along with and was trying to deny it. It made me laugh. My favorite scene: The awful proposal from Mr. Collins and Mr. Bennett telling Elizabeth he would never see her again if she married him. A friend of mine didn't like that the newer version made it look like Mr. and Mrs. Bennett actually like each other - another fact I was ignorant to. But I love Donald Sutherland. I'll have to read the book sometime. Maybe I'll see the movie in a whole new light. :-D Hi Amber!
